HSM Intro to Biblical Koine Greek

This class is designed to equip High Schoolers (grades 9–12) to have a novice understanding of Biblical Greek so they may know the language that God used to communicate His message to His people in New Testament times. Understanding Greek helps the student of Scripture delve into the depths of God’s written revelation, which brings great reward. Class will also focus on 1 John, and students will read and learn key lexical terms from the epistle.

Class Objectives:

● To gain at least a novice understanding of the Koine Greek alphabet, grammar, and vocabulary
● To gain an increased interest in, and appreciation for the New Testament and the language in which it was written
● To experience how even at a minuscule level in understanding Koine Greek, one can grow in spiritual maturity and ministry
● To read aloud passages of the Greek New Testament, mainly from 1 John
● To be able to translate simple sentences in the New Testament, specifically 1 John
