Murder Mystery Game & Potluck Dinner Social
Saturday, April 14th, 6:00 p.m., W129/130. Sign-up required! If you have ever done a murder mystery dinner "theater" you know how fun this social will be. The murder mystery we have chosen is entitled, "Murder at the Deadwood Salon," so we are asking everyone who attends to "dress up" and wear western attire. What will happen is that we will assign a part to each person who signs up. Each person will then be given a paper which will tell them who they are in the drama, what clues they are to reveal, and when they are to reveal the clues. There is no acting or "up front" play. Rather, clues are simply revealed by different people as we go through the evening. By the end of the night it should be possible to determine who murdered whom, and how they did it. Everyone is involved in giving clues and figuring out what happened. Oh yes, the Deadwood Salon only serves "potluck" for dinner, so it will be necessary for all of us to bring something to eat. Sign-ups are required as we need to assign parts and know who is bringing what food. There are two ways to sign-up: 1) There is a sign-up sheet going around in the PrimeTimers Sunday school class at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings in W129/130. 2) You can email our Social Chair, sina@goldenhills.org to let her know you are coming and ask what food item to bring. Any questions? Call Pastor Rick Moe at (925) 516-0653, ext. 124.
Here's the description of the Murder Mystery Game: "It’s the First Annual Deadwood Poker Tournament! For weeks people have been pouring into the small western town of Deadwood for the biggest poker tournament this side of the Mississippi. From outlaws to marshals and saloon girls to southern belles, everyone has made this small western frontier town the place to be. As the festivities of the poker tournament conclude, a celebration party is planned at the Deadwood Saloon to award the prize money for the tournament and to celebrate what is hoping to be a very financially successful venture for the saloon. With a smattering of bandits, bankers, saloon girls, sheriffs, gamblers, east coast debutantes, and of course a few of the locals, this is guaranteed to make for a very interesting evening indeed. You would be foolish to miss this celebration!"
"Laughter on the 23rd Floor" Theater Production
Sunday, May 20th, 2:00 p.m., Pittsburg High School's Creative Arts Building. (Please sign-up and pay Mary Jo Campbell by May 6th). This will be the second play we will attend put on by the Pittsburg Community Theater. This play is Neil Simon’s homage to the glory days of television. Simon’s alter-ego, Lucas Brickman, maintains a running commentary on the writing, fighting, and wacky antics which take place in the writers’ room. Because we need to purchase tickets in advance, please sign up either in the PrimeTimers Sunday school class at 9:45 a.m. in W129/130, or by emailing our Theater Chair, maryjo@goldenhills.org. Please also pay Mary Jo by May 6th as she needs to buy tickets that next week.
