Gospel Class

The Gospel Class is a 8 or 12 week course designed to help you grow in confidence and ability to share your faith with family, friends and others.

FEAR CAN BE CRIPPLING.

Many falter at the starting line. They never get out of the blocks. Fear of failure, fear of misrepresenting our Lord, fear of rejection, fear of not knowing what to say, fear of persecution, fear....fear.....

Fear.

There are many fears that keep people from reaching out and getting out of their comfort zones to share the gospel. Many will never hear the message because those called to go are still crippled with fear and are not going.

We must not let fear keep us at the starting line. The starter has fired the shot and we must start moving into action.

THE ACADEMIC & THE PRACTICAL

The Gospel Class encourages both the study of the gospel (Academic) and the sharing of the gospel (Practical).

Some do not "go" because they do not feel equipped to go. If we have the feel ready before we go, then we will never go. We should study and go....study while we go.

THE ACADEMIC: CLASSROOM WORK

In the classroom we have discussion, lecture and role play. Each student is encouraged to commit to a growth level that is challenging and yet manageable. There will be some memorization involved.

THE PRACTICAL: OUT OF CLASS

Along with pursuing the academic, gaining a better understanding of what the gospel is and how to share it, we are encouraged to be active sharing. We grow as we go.

Very often our understanding of what we have in Christ is enriched only as we go and are active sharing our faith. There are numerous opportunities given in the class to share the gospel. All class members will be expected to move beyond their own comfort zones.

THE PROCESS

IF we asked the average person, "Are you saved?" a common response would be, "Saved from what?"

How do you share Christ and His Salvation with one who doesn't feel the need to be saved or who doesn't care what you believe? This class will help answer those questions.

In this class we explore effective ways to engage unbelievers in respectful and thought-provoking dialogue.

We will learn how to respond to statements and views people have. How do you currently respond to statements like these:

• No one knows what happens after we die!
• The Bible is full of contradictions!
• I'm sincere, so I'll be alright!
• Why would God allow.....(fill in the blank)
• Truth is whatever you think is right for you!
• We all worship the same God!
