COC Purpose statement

Our purpose is to glorify God by making disciples who will impact the local community and the world by transforming lives and changing culture for Christ.

About Us

In June of 1997, the Community Outreach Center (COC) opened its doors at the corner of C and 19th Street in Antioch . The COC is an outreach of Golden Hills Community Church and ministers to the low income and homeless of Antioch and the surrounding communities. We conduct a worship service every weeknight at 5 p.m. followed by a large meal at 6 p.m. These services may include praise, testimonies, preaching of God's word, drama, puppets, and any other way we can get across the message of God's truth and love.

In addition to worship and meals, the COC also has Bible studies, children's programs, clothing and furniture giveaways, support groups, visitation teams who go into the community to visit and pray with our guests, community service teams, and monthly field trips.

Please pray and consider participating with us. If you would like more details of how you can get involved with the programs at the COC, you may check out the List of Ministry Opportunities.

Who We Are

We are Christians who desire to honor Christ by being His hand extended to our needy community. Jesus came to "seek and save that which was lost" and right before He left He said, "as the Father has sent Me, I am sending you."

God has called every Christian to be His ambassador. Every Christian is called in some way to be God's hand extended to the needy world. Someone has said, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

One of our greatest challenges at the COC is showing and telling people that Jesus touches the untouchable...He loves the unlovable...He goes way beyond our furthest dreams of someone who really cares...and yet He doesn't wink at sin. Our ministry is to be an expression of Christ to the world, full of grace and truth.

With a strong commitment to the preaching and teaching of God's word, along with a desire to be God's hand extended in practical love, we are seeing God's transforming work in the hearts and lives of people.
