Membership Statement

People can be actively engaged in worship and serving in many places at Golden Hills without ever taking the formal step of becoming a member. However, when a person decides that God has called them to unite with a specific local Body of believers, and are ready to assume a higher commitment of prayer, giving, service and ownership of our united mission, then membership is a useful and appropriate step. Every member must be a born again follower of Jesus who have been baptized by immersion upon testimony of their conversion to Christ either at Golden Hills or another church of like faith and practice. If you are born again and baptized, the membership process involves these simple but important steps:

1. Indicate on a Sunday registration card or call the Church to let us know of your interest in becoming a member.
2. You will be invited to attend a membership information class where you will learn all about the Church's history, doctrines, constitution, expectations of members and much more. They meet usually once a month on a Saturday morning or Monday night for about 2 hours.
3. After the class you will have opportunity to confirm your desire to join and arrange for such essentials as baptism if such a step is needed.
4. You will be scheduled for a follow up contact by one of our elders to make sure all your questions are answered and you are ready for membership.
5. You will then be scheduled to be received into membership at one of our business meetings held in January, April or October.
